The data is free and stays free. You already have permission to use it commercially, under CC BY 4.0, and nothing here changes that. What is for sale is the operational work of not having to watch this feed yourself.
Say the awkward part first
You can curl the JSON today, for nothing, and build on it. For most people that is the
right answer and you should do it. Calling that a licence and charging for it would be selling you
something you already own.
What you cannot get for free is someone else carrying the operational risk: noticing the day a member state reclassifies 84 commodity codes, telling you which of them you actually use, and fixing the pipeline the day the Commission moves its endpoint. That is the product.
What you actually get
- A change feed, not a promise.
data/changes.jsonlists every rate added, removed or changed since the last build, and every commodity code reclassified, with the count of codes affected. It exists now; you can read it before paying anything. - A schema version that means something. Every file carries
schema_version. A breaking change gets a new major version, and the previous one keeps being published for 90 days. Written down here so you can hold us to it. - Notice before it breaks. Schema changes are announced at least 30 days ahead, in the feed itself, so a machine can see it coming rather than a person noticing after.
- A reply from a person. Within two working days, from one person in the CET timezone. Not 24/7, not a queue, not an SLA with a credit clause. Said plainly because promising more would be a lie that becomes obvious the first time you need it.

Why this is priced below the alternatives
Vatstack, VAT Sense, vatlayer and Lookuptax sell VAT rate access from roughly €6 to €450 a month. They sell a hosted API with uptime behind it. This sells files in a git repository and one person's attention. That is worth less, so it costs less.
What none of them sells at any price is the commodity-code mapping. That part is not a discount, it is the reason to be here.
Buy
Get the filtered feed — €29 once
Checkout asks for the commodity codes you sell. That is the only thing needed, and it is the whole product: your feed is built from that list.
If it does not do what this page says, reply to your Stripe receipt within 30 days and you get your money back. No form. And if you would rather just ask a question first, hugo@vystral.com reaches one person.
Honest about scale
This is run by one person and an automated pipeline. There are no customers yet, so there are no testimonials on this page. The pipeline is public: you can read every line that produces the data before deciding whether to trust it.
